It’s been raining all damn day. And at the very end of the day, you decide to show up.
Flickr seems to hate vertical video from the iPhone. Every time I try to upload a new video it just gives me the “We were unable to process your video”. Everything shot in landscape video uploads just fine. That’s a little frustrating.
More to come, I’m sure.
Emailing flickr + uploading to blog, originally uploaded by dug.sirkel.
So, it’s official. I broke down and got the 3G S. I’ve been trying to test out the advantages and disadvantages with mobile blogging. I wanted to see how well Flickr will handle the video sent from my iPhone and then uploading it to my blog. It does pretty well.
Update: Can’t figure out why this scrawny thumbnail is showing up instead of the full size. I’ll check more into it and let you know. Everything else has been fine.
Update 2: The thumbnail shrunk once again after I updated a couple things in this post. I had to go back in and physically change the size of the video to 500px x 375px.
I took a few photos @ Casa Tina in Dunedin last night. You can check out this photo as well as a few shots of the beautiful performers of Clearwater’s Dance and Circus Arts . The Aerial artists perform cirque style acts right in the middle of the restaurant. Very cool.
Tonight I’ll be adding the 3.0 software to my original 4GB iPhone (2G). I wanted put down all the pros and cons of the OS update to see whether it’s worth keeping the old phone or upgrading to the 3GS.
Update:
Installation: Worked fine. There were only a couple of issues that I ran into. I was unable to update Shazam through the App Store but I tried it a few minutes later and it worked. The other issue was with the Remote app. It’s just dead.
Copy and paste: “Tonight I’ll be adding the 3.0 software to my original 4GB iPhone (2G). I wanted put down all the pros and cons of the OS update to see whether it’s worth keeping the old phone or upgrading to the 3GS.” It works great. This was copied from Notes and pasted into the Wordpress app on the phone. It’s good to know that after all the wait I was done right.
Spotlight search: Is amazing, not sure what I did without it.
iTunes Store: Thank you for the long ass user Software License Agreement.
Responsiveness: There’s no apparent slow down with the update. Everything is still fairly steady for being a 2G iPhone.
Still searching through it all, will update soon.
The “zombified” photo I did last year of Blair Butler is being used in the Fresh Ink intro on G4TV. Pretty damn cool. Thanks Blair!
Did you know that They Might Be Giants performs The Daily Show theme song? They also did the theme to Malcolm in the Middle back in the day.
Update:
Their song “Boss of Me” served as the theme to the Fox Television Network comedy series Malcolm in the Middleand earned them a Grammy Award in 2002. They have also contributed theme songs to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, The Oblongs, Adult Swim’s The Drinky Crow Show, Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse andHigglytown Heroes, along with a commercial for Dexter’s Laboratory and Cartoon Network’s Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Or more specifically to you, Mr. “You Pussy Ass Crackers Can’t Keep Me On Lock D”. I’m assuming you didn’t have enough room to add the “Down” to the end of your profile username?
Anyhow, There’s a fair chance that I’ll deny your friend request. Don’t worry though, It’s nothing personal. I actually enjoy being called a “Cracker” every now and again. However, if you just would have said hello before the random friend request, maybe I could have gotten to know you first. And I’m sure your username is no reflection on your kind-hearted, proud parenting, Buddhist nature.
Let this lesson be heard by all Random Myspace Friend Requestors (RMFRs). Just say hello first, and you might have better luck at padding that myspace friend count of yours. Good luck Mr. “Pussy Ass Cracker” and Godspeed… er, Buddhaspeed.
Canon 5D HD Mime Old Town Stockholm Music Video from Anna Thorbjörnsson on Vimeo.
This is one of the best uses of the Canon 5D that I’ve ever seen. If you get a chance, click on the video and visit Anna Thorbjörnsson’s Vimeo page. She’s a great photographer/videographer.
